New children’s playground for Birkirkara

Outdoor play spaces produce healthy, imaginative and sociable children, while also providing a safe place for them to play and develop.  The Gasan Foundation recently sponsored the transformation of the public garden in Birkirkara, known as Il Gnien tal – Ahwa Kanonici, into a modern playground and garden for the community. Over 1400sqm metres of the garden were given a complete makeover with plants and shrubs, and the installation of some of the latest playground equipment available.

The playground was officially declared open by Minister Chris Cardona during an inauguration event held earlier this week. The Mayor of Birkirkara Ms. Joanna Debono Grech was also present and thanked the Foundation for its generous donation which made the embellishment of this open space in the heart of Birkirkara possible.  Mr. Mark Gasan, CEO for Gasan Group, also said a few words explaining that community and social responsibility is at the heart of what the Gasan Foundation stands for, and that Gasan Group, through the Foundation, will continue to contribute towards a better community.

About the Foundation

The Gasan Foundation was set up with the scope of creating a more structured philanthropic and socially responsible plan in which to channel charitable funds which Gasan Group has consistently contributed extensively towards. The primary objective and aim behind this move was to provide financial and non-financial support to existing non-profit organisations and to assist them with their activities.
